‘Why we cannot see God?’
The atheist usually ask me why we cannot see God if God exist. A simple answer to this would be that not necessarily what we cannot see does not exist.
We cannot see God because God did not provide us with the senses to ‘see’ Him. As an analogy, let say I have created a car. Is the car able to see me? The car cannot see me because I did not create the car with the ability to see me. Just because the car cannot see me does that mean I do not exist?
Despite the car cannot see me, I can see the car! Similarly God can see us in spite of we cannot see God. The very fact the car exist also proves that I (the maker of car) also exist. Similarly the existence of our universe is also the fact in the existence of its Creator.

Assalamualaikum. I was at Asy-Syakirin Mosque KLCC when you gave a short lecture prior to Jumaat prayer (13 May 2011). You shared an approach of ‘capturing’ the attention of an atheist friend by saying, “You’re half Muslim because ‘there is no God’ is part of our Shahadatain etc etc”. Good tips. Thanks.
Just for the sake of mental exercise, how do our atheist friend define himself, “A person who do not believe the existence of God” or “A person who believes that God does not exist.” An atheist or an agnostic atheism?
By the way, I just found the word agnostic when I googled “Dr Bart Ehrman”. He’s the writer of “Forged: Writing in the Name of God – Why the Bible’s Authors Are Not Who We Think They Are”. First published, Mar 2011. RM89.90 @ MPH or Borders. Highly recommended by Bro. Sirajuddin, IPSI Penang as our in depth study for Al Baqarah (2): 79. Wallahu a’lam.

Wa’alaikum salaam, I know what you meant. Been there. When I first became a Muslim, I too had so many questions but don’t get satisfactory answers. Either will get half cooked answers or scolding… hu hu. On the contrary when I begin to get good answers, my conviction in Islam increases. But there aren’t many websites/peoples who can give precise, objective, logical answers based on evidences from the Qur’an and authentic Hadeeths. Hope can be of service…
